Calvin Harris Commends 'My Girl' Taylor Swift On Her Apple Victory

Taylor 4 Prez.

Lately, the shouts from the Twitterverse have been "Taylor Swift for President!" That's because, besides her general awesomeness, the "Bad Blood" singer just got massive tech company Apple to budge on their new music streaming service.

Swift wrote an open letter to Apple on Sunday, arguing why their three-month free trial period isn't fair to indie artists, who wouldn't get paid royalties for those months.

"This is not about me," Swift wrote on Tumblr. "This is about the new artist or band that has just released their first single and will not be paid for its success. This is about the young songwriter who just got his or her first cut and thought that the royalties from that would get them out of debt."

Her eloquently worded letter quickly got to Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet software and services.

"When I woke up this morning and read Taylor’s note, it really solidified that we need to make a change," Cue told The New York Times on Sunday. Less than 24 hours after the release of Taylor's letter, Apple will now pay artists for trial period.

Along with Swifties and music lovers around the world, Taylor got love from Calvin Harris, who called her "my girl," in a proud-boyfriend tweet.

That tweet also got squeals from Swift fans, who not only support her music-industry prowess but fan over her relationship as well. Either way, Swift is slaying.
