66 People Just Rode A Single Surfboard Together -- And, Yes, There's Video
Graining on that wood, graining, graining on that wood.
Sixty-six surfers celebrated International Surf Day on Saturday in pretty outrageous fashion. Namely: on a giant surfboard, in pursuit of a world record.
The participants gathered in Huntington Beach, California in an attempt to oust the previous Guinness World Record of 47 people hanging ten together. The surfers piled onto a massive 42-foot long, 11-foot wide custom-made board and stood for 13 whole seconds.
A World Record adjudicator was on hand to review the entry, which is expected to become official soon -- it's also possible it could best the Longest Surfboard category, according to KTLA.
And yes, there's video.
