Malala Yousafzai is an inspirational young woman.

A teen activist for education, bestselling author, Nobel Peace Prize winner and survivor of extreme violence, the 17-year-old has overcome adversity with her unbreakable spirit. Now, her life story is the subject of a documentary, "He Named Me Malala."

The Malala Fund posted the first trailer for the inspiring doc on its Facebook page. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, "He Named Me Malala" centers on Yousafzai's incredible story, her personal journey as an education activist and more intimate moments of her just being a regular teenager.

Yousafzai, an outspoken advocate for education in Pakistan, was nearly killed by the Taliban in 2012 while on her way home from school. Since that gruesome attack, Yousafzai and her father Zia have been committed to fighting for education worldwide.

"He Named Me Malala" hits theaters in October.
