There are so many reasons why we’re highly anticipating “Mockingjay — Part 2,” the fourth and final installment of the “Hunger Games” franchise (moment of silence, please). One of the most pressing reasons, though, is because we’ll finally get to see our fave hunter manly-man, Gale Hawthorne, be the swoon-worthy badass he was born to be.

Liam Hemsworth’s Gale racked up more screen time in “Mockingjay — Part 1,” but he’s destined for greatness in the franchise finale — and he’s going to look hella fine getting there.

How do we know? Hemsworth shared the first solo shot of Gale on his Facebook page on Friday (June 5), showing the crossbow-wielder armed and dangerous. The image isn’t super revealing, but it does give us a peek at what appears to be the sewer sequence of the film.

As book readers know, Katniss and her all-star #squad attempt to infiltrate the Capital via the city’s underground sewer system so our heroine and President Snow can have their epic final showdown. We won’t spoil too much, but let’s just say a lot of s--t goes down in the sewers (no pun intended) and it’s bound to be even more petrifying on the big screen.

When MTV News caught up with director Frances Lawrence in April, he teased the sewer scenes as the most difficult but rewarding ones to film.

“There’s a sequence that fans will know about down in the sewers that’s really fun and exciting,” he told us. “It was really hard to shoot, but I think it looks great.”

Hemsworth’s new closeup follows Jennifer Lawrence’s first official photo from “Mockingjay — Part 2,” which debuted Wednesday (June 3), and Josh Hutcherson’s solo shot of Peeta looking considerably more sane, which he unveiled a day later.

Hopefully this flood of new images is building up to a big surprise. All the pics are not-so-subtly captioned “6.9.15 #MockingjayPart2 #Unite,” so we have a sneaking suspicion all you Panemaniacs might want to pay extra close attention on June 9. Just sayin’.
