Young Thug's New Ice Cream Cone Face Tattoo Has Real Meaning

UPDATE (3/11/15, 3:42 p.m. ET): Young Thug's fiancée, Jerrika Karlae, tells VladTV that Thug's tattoo is a fake. "It's a kiddie tattoo that I put on him," she said.

It used to be that there was only one rapper bold enough to have an ice cream cone tattooed on his face -- and then there were two.

On Sunday, Young Thug took to Instagram to reveal the new ink on his left cheek, but the art isn't Baskin Robbins inspired, it has everything to do with Thug's mentor Gucci Mane.

"#Freeguwop I LOVE AND MISS U," Thugger wrote to caption the first of three IG posts that saluted the incarcerated rapper.

When he was free, Gucci discovered Thug, and in 2013, he helped him to release his 1017 Thug mixtape. To pay homage, Thugger got the same face tat that Guwop got back in 2011.

"I got the tat, at the time I was thinking it was going to represent that I was the coldest MC in the game," Gucci told MTV correspondent Sway Calloway after he got the ink.

These days, Thug is definitely one of hip-hop's coldest talents (don't worry -- cold is a good thing). In April he released his Barter 6 mixtape and has kept his name in the news by bravely taking aim at veteran MC Lil Wayne. His proper debut album Hy!£UN35 (pronounced High Tunes) is scheduled to be released later this year.
