Real heads know that Armin van Buuren is pretty much the dad of #trancefam, an elite and exclusive community of ravers within the dance music realm. But new members of this group might not realize Trance Dad™ actually has a family of his own.

In 2013, van Buuren even announced the birth of his second child at one of the largest and most notable dance music festivals in the world, Tomorrowland in Belgium.

During a chat with MTV News, AVB talked about the constant struggle between being a world-class musician and a husband with two kids. That comes as no surprise -- top-earning DJs often travel for hundreds of days out of the year and dedicate countless hours to the studios where their hit singles are produced.

Trance Dad™ just makes sure to dedicate uninterrupted blocks of time to his biological family, while a hired team takes care of show details for his trance family.

Get ready to say “aww” when Armin says, “I do have this golden rule: After 5 [o’clock], before 7 [o’clock], I don’t pick up my phone. I want to be there for my kids and my family.” He goes on to tug even harder at those heartstrings by detailing, “This is a golden rule because I want to feed them, I want to bathe them, I want to cuddle them, I want to put them to bed. It’s one of the most important times of the day.”

Having a successful career and a loving family doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive. It might be tough, and that might be scary. But if any DJ has taught us to never be afraid, it’s Armin van Buuren.
