Ryan Reynolds Is The Best Human, Helps A Young Cancer Patient’s Dream Of Meeting Deadpool Come True

Wade Wilson, more like Wade FEELson, am I right?

He might be a fan-favorite character, but Deadpool is not about to win any popularity contests among his fellow heroes -- everyone in the Marvel comic universe, from Nick Fury to Wolverine, find him way too annoying for that.

But despite his immature sense of humor and total lack of filter, deep down the "Merc With A Mouth" has a heart of pure gold. So does the guy currently bringing him to life in the movies, Ryan Reynolds, who gave up his time to put on the Deadpool costume and meet with a young fan named Tony as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

"Tony Acevedo asked Make A Wish Foundation if he could meet Deadpool," Reynolds wrote on his new Instagram page. "I wasn't expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile... and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed. Tony's next fight is with Hodgkin's Disease. Hodgkin's Disease best be wearing its brown pants. Huge thanks to @makeawishamerica"

Hodkin's Disease, also known as Hodgkin's Lymphoma, is a rare cancer of the immune system that affects 2.7 per 100,000 people in the United States, according to the National Cancer Institute. It's also the most common form of childhood cancer, and while more than one thousand patients are expected to die from the disease in 2015, the survival rate is generally pretty high.

Not enough feel-good for you yet? It's also worth pointing out that Deadpool ALSO lives with cancer in the comics, which is still present in his body despite his incredible healing powers. So really, he's exactly the sort of guy you'd want on your side if you were diagnosed. You know, most of the time.
