Here's How Lena Dunham Really Feels About Kim Kardashian's 'Selfish' Book

The 'Girls' star says the book is an 'experiment in female identity exploration.'

Kim Kardashian's latest endeavor, a book of her many selfies through the years entitled Selfish, has attracted lots of attention, not all of it good. And really, with a title like that, who wouldn't expect a little criticism?

Still, Kim has at least one celebrity fan in her corner, and that's "Girls" star Lena Dunham.

In an Instagram post Thursday (May 14), Dunham posed for her very own selfie, holding Kim's book for all her followers to see. "Selfie with selfish, #yeahiboughtit," she captioned the pic, also adding, "(I support experiments in female identity exploration/am a student of pop culture/will not be shamed)."

To be honest, Dunham's support of Selfish is a tad surprising, considering her reputation as an advocate for many feminist causes. Then again, isn't freedom of expression (and equality, of course) what feminism is all about? It's interesting that Dunham calls the book an "experiment in female identity exploration," and it's a valid point.

Dunham recently posted an "experiment" of her very own, one that garnered lots of positive attention. She snapped a gym selfie while wearing workout clothes in the wrong size, writing, "forgot my workout clothes so had to snag a size large bra and size small pants (wrong in myriad ways.) But do we soldier on? Yes, yes we do because we want to be a strong & happy lady."

Go, girl.

So, what's the consensus? Is Lena right about Kim, or is the reality star's new book just a "selfish" act of self-promotion?
