'True Life' Check-In: Here's What Happened To The Show's Most Memorable Subjects Ever

Find out what's up with Noah -- 'Dancing With the Stars' scoop included -- and many others!

MTV's "True Life: Checkups and Check-Ins" visited some of the show's most memorable subjects from the last decade to see how their lives have changed since filming wrapped. Take a look at our follow-up Q&As below:

Noah

What is it like to be on 'Dancing With The Stars'?

Being on 'Dancing with the Stars' has been an incredible experience. I’m not a dancer, so it’s really been a challenge for me to step outside of my comfort zone. Sharna is an amazing teacher, and I’m just doing my best to really soak up everything she’s teaching me. I just want to get better each week.

It’s been a surprise how much mental energy it takes to train and rehearse. I’m dreaming about dancing now. I’m always running through dance steps in my mind, even if I’m not in the studio at rehearsal. Jamie, my girlfriend, says I’m talking in my sleep about dancing.

What do you plan to do next?

Once the show is over, I’ll go back to being a dad to my three incredible kids, plus continue to do speaking engagements and appearances, modeling and hopefully continue to work in television in some way because I really enjoy it. I’m also doing some modeling as the new face of Kenneth Cole’s MANKIND Ultimate fragrance, and I’m working with Armitron on a collection of watches to be featured in stores all over the country.

What would you say to someone living with addiction?

The main thing I want people who live with addiction and family members of people who live with addiction to understand is that it's not something you will ever really be rid of. It's a disease, and like any other disease, there are treatments for it and you can learn to manage it. The second you let your guard down and think "Yeah, I got this," the disease of addiction will rear its ugly head. Once you understand that, and accept the fact that you can't use any mind-altering substances successfully, you are on the right track. It's this simple concept that took me years to understand.

If you had the chance to go back, would you still invite 'True Life' to document your struggle with addiction?

Absolutely. It was an amazing experience that totally changed the course of my life. I want to thank MTV and all the producers and crew involved in the production of my episode. I also want to thank Lifescapes solutions (the treatment center I went to in the first episode) and, of course, I want to thank my mom for never giving up on me. Thanks to all the viewers as well!

How is your new fetish business?

The fetish business is going great -- I love working in a business that's so fun. Being part of something that allows me to eat Cheetos and get paid for it is pretty awesome! Plus, I love working with my husband! We both have our own roles in the business and it works great for us. He films and edits and I work with all the models, act in videos and do customers service. We communicate really well, and that makes it easy to work together.

How was this round of filming different than when viewers first heard your story?

This round of filming felt better because it felt more authentic. I'm in a much better place now in my life, and I felt like I was able to get how I felt across better this time. Before, the show only focused on my looks and how I don't like what I look like -- which I don't -- but it didn't talk about how bad anxiety impacted my life. People didn't understand that I had anxiety to work a real job and that's why I modeled. To work hands-on with a few people for a couple hours worked much better for me than working every day all day with tons of people.

What was it like filming for a second time all these years later?

It was surreal being back in front of cameras. I have become a much more private person since my episode aired, so having my everyday life back in the spotlight was familiar, but odd.

What's new in your life since we last caught up with you?

I am single for the first time in a very long time. Casual dating in my late 20s in a new city is definitely not what I thought I was going to be doing almost six years after my episode, but I am enjoying life, making some good friends and adding to my chosen family.

Has your relationship with your mother improved at all?

Currently, I have no relationship with my mother. We aren't even connected on social media and rarely communicate in any form. It makes me extremely sad to think about the loss of another person in my life, but I am doing my best not to dwell on the negative. I am open to repairing the relationship when and if the opportunity presents itself, and I hope she is too.

Jennie

Has anything new happened since we caught up with you last?

I was cast and performed in my first professional shows, which were a lot fun. Plus, I just took a meeting yesterday at a network to get to know the casting department and read for them on film -- they are looking for disabled actors, and I was one of the ones they called in, which was really cool! I also have been assistant teaching at a children's theater, which has taught me so much about both teaching and theater.

Have you made a decision on getting eye surgery?

I'm still on the fence. From what I've researched, an extreme correction in vision isn't the norm, and getting my eyeballs popped out of my head still kind of freaks me out. I think I'll know more once I get out into the world and am auditioning more.

What is your plan for after you graduate from NYU?

I'll be an acting apprentice at the Williamstown Theater Festival for the summer, and then I'll be back in the city looking for a job either teaching or nannying while auditioning.

Danielle

Tell us about the new addition to your family.

My husband Nathan and I welcomed our beautiful baby boy Dominic Thomas Cabral on January 11, 2015. He is the happiest, sweetest and most loved little baby. It's so funny how when I started on this MTV journey I was barely 21 chasing a dream, and then fast forward to present day, and I have every thing I never knew I wanted! I went from being a struggling actress to marrying my dream guy, building my dream home, filming a TV series and giving birth to a prince. Someone pinch me!

What's the most rewarding part about being a new mom?

Based on the past four months, the most rewarding moment for me is when my son looks at me -- it's as if I am his world, and his smile is just absolutely contagious. When he looks at me with such love and adoration, I know I am doing my job as a mommy.

Do you have any more plans to hit the TV screen?

Absolutely! I think the urge and yearning to get on TV has subsided a little bit since I filmed my show and had my son, but the dream never dies. I didn't reach the level of success I aimed for, but I reached other milestones that are so much better. I am working with my production company, World of Wonder, on the next step.

Alyssa is still in treatment at the Roger’s Memorial Hospital for OCD treatment. Here is a response from her grandmother Linda:

I think Alyssa would tell you that the gift of the OCD Treatment Center at Cedar Ridge was most definitely a positive experience. Dr. Reiman and his entire staff were instrumental in teaching Alyssa how to get a handle on her OCD. They have even arranged for a therapist to continue with follow-up here in our area upon Alyssa's return home. Alyssa feels she still has a way to go, but at least has the tools with which to move forward.

Sara

How has your weight loss journey improved since filming?

My weight loss journey continues to be a challenge, but one that I am dedicated to. While I don’t always make the best decisions, I strive daily to make choices that contribute to my overall health. While my weight loss journey will likely be a lifelong challenge, I’m hopeful I’ll reach my goals and continue to live a happy and healthy life with the continued support and love from my friends, family and Enrique.

What is your relationship with Enrique like now?

Enrique and I will be celebrating our two-year anniversary in June by taking a trip to New Orleans. We’ve had our ups and downs but have grown closer together because of 'True Life'. Enrique continues to support me in striving to live a healthy lifestyle and does so in more positive ways since the show aired.

What's new since you filmed the update show?

We are busy chasing around a very active little girl, changing righteous diapers and trying to identify whether that spot on our shirts is puke or poop...and we are loving every single minute of it. Apart from that, we still advocate on our blog Our Misconception (ourmisconception.com) and play an active role volunteering for RESOLVE, The National Infertility Association (resolve.org) by hosting local support groups for other couples struggling with infertility. We also will be meeting with congressional leaders in Washington D.C. for Advocacy Day to ask for pro-family legislation that, if passed, would help other couples become families.

Just because we are parents now, it does not erase the seven years of heartache we experienced. We were given this road to walk down for a reason. It is important to us that we never forget our path to parenthood and use our journey to help others who are facing similar struggles.

What's your favorite part about being parents?

The discovery. Humans are amazing creatures. Mini-humans are even more amazing. It is mind-blowing how fast they grow and how quickly they learn. Apart from that, baby snuggles are pretty epic. Nothing is better than that.

Leandra

Are there any new updates in your life since you last filmed?

I am currently in a relationship with someone. We are planning to spend our lives together, so we will see where this goes! He is absolutely amazing in every way, and he's amazing with my daughter, and I adore him for that even more. I am about to enroll my daughter in her first school in the next few weeks, which is thrilling. I have also gotten my diabetes under control.

How was this round of filming different than when viewers first heard your story?

This round is completely different because I am a new mom that's living a somewhat caffeine-free life. I'm also not as crazy as I was the first round. I use to be balls-to-the-wall hyper at all times, and now I'm more settled living the mommy life.

What's the best part about being a new mom?

The best part about being a new mom is watching something that you created grow and learn more and more every day. I see the milestones that my daughter hits, and I sit back and think how I helped her get there. It's such gratifying feeling. I never thought I would have children, but now, having had one, I couldn't see my life another way. I love my daughter so much! I don't know what I would do without her.

Morgan

What was it like sharing your story with us again 10 years later?

Honestly, sharing my story again stirred up a few different emotions. First and foremost, I felt truly honored to have had this incredible opportunity even in the first place! Second, I did feel a little anxious at times having to resurrect some of those old thoughts and feelings, but overall I just felt straight excitement -- excited to throw what obstacles I've overcome and what dreams I've been able to achieve these past 10 years in OCD's face! It's liberating, exhilarating and motivating all tied into one.

Update us on your OCD.

Overall, I'm doing really well. The tools I've learned in therapy really do come in handy when my OCD starts to rear its head. I find it interesting that the older I get, the better grasp I have on what a false reality OCD can truly create for somebody. Being able to clearly identify an OCD-driven thought from a normal, healthy thought has helped me out tremendously.

What advice would you give to other people living with OCD?

My advice is to never give up hope or think you're alone. Everybody struggles with something -- being able to grab that struggle by the horns and let it know who's boss is truly when the victory starts coming. Everybody is uniquely gifted and created with a purpose.
