April 24 was just another Friday for students at Chalmette High School in Louisiana ... until their teacher, Jonathan Holt, handed out ring pops and gave his girlfriend Iris Howorth's english class very specific instructions.

One by one, these students had to get down on one knee and fake-propose to Howorth with a Ring Pop. Then, when she was cornered by the lovestruck teens, Holt walked into the classroom with the real ring.

It was a simple and heartwarming proposal, and the entire thing -- the students' giggling, Howorth's tears of happiness -- was captured on tape. Holt posted the video, created by Jose Cotto, on YouTube Monday (May 4).

She said yes (!!) and the happy couple walked and danced through the school's hallways with a band playing behind them. The newly engaged teachers, both Teach for America alums, plan to wed this October. D'awww.
