Here's When You'll See That First Episode Of 'Shadowhunters' -- And What It's Called

Producer McG is tweeting up a storm.

You've been waiting in suspense for news about the "Mortal Instruments" TV spin-off, "Shadowhunters," and now it's here: come early 2016, you'll be able to watch the show.

According to information distributed this week at TV's upfronts, the 13-episode run of "Shadowhunters" will premiere on ABC Family sometime early next year. Producer McG will direct the first episode, which, according to a cover page tweeted by McG (and squeed over via RT by Cassandra Clare, author of the young adult fantasy novels on which the show is based), will be called "The Mortal Cup."

Also, casting appears to be currently in progress, with McG making stops throughout Canada and now in Los Angeles, where McG tweeted that he's seen promise in actors reading for the male lead of Jace.

McG swore on Twitter that he'd find the perfect actors for each role in the show:

In an interview with EW, McG said that he's not daunted by the series' already large fanbase and the pressures that might entail.

"I think it’s exciting," he said. "My style is to be open and communicative and talk about what we can and can’t do with the realistic parameters of television. But I think everybody’s expectations of television is so high now with 'Game of Thrones,' and there’s such excellence out there that we plan to recognize that and take it even higher. So I find it empowering and encouraging. I take it very seriously, and I’m doing a great deal of listening."

Hear that? Expect some luxury TV to roll around in. And the best part of it is, you won't even have to steal your friend's dad's coworker's HBO Go password to watch it.
