While Taylor Swift has had bangs for years, ever since she cut her hair last February, she has largely favored soft, side-swept bangs to the sleek, straight, centered ones she preferred when her hair was longer. Tonight at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, though, that all changed.

Taylor hit the red carpet in a sparkly black dress with cutouts, but all eyes—at least all the eyes in my head—were on her hair. There was something different, but what was it?? The length is the same, as is the color. And then it dawned on me—she brought back her heavy bangs and—hello—they look great.

The last time Taylor styled her bangs in the center was in December, when she performed Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, which means the iHeartRadio carpet was ~technically~ the first time this year she's brought 'em out.
