With wanton disregard for the Navy's/EVERYONE'S emotional well-being, Rihanna just announced that she'll be dropping some new music on March 26 -- a.k.a., TOMORROW.
She broke the news by Instagramming a photo of herself, presumably shot by "FourFiveSeconds" directors Inez & Vinoodh, with the caption: "rihannaNOW.com #R8 #BBHMM #March26."
Are you breathing? Make sure you're still doing that.
Let's break down each part of that caption. The site she linked to seems to be overwhelmed by all the sudden traffic, but I swear it worked for me one single, glorious time.
And "#R8," as you should know by now, stands for Rihanna's eighth studio album.
Moving on to "#BBHMM," Complex's Lauren Nostro pointed out that the braille on the left side of the image translates to "Bitch Better Have My Money," which I confirmed via this online braille translator I Googled (v professional).
Here's a side-by-side translation courtesy my colleague/fellow Navy Gaby Wilson.
And just in case you need any more confirmation that #BBHMM stands for "Bitch Better Have My Money," here's a selfie Rih posted to Instagram a couple of weeks ago. The caption? "Bitch betta ha' my money!!!"
While Vulture and The FADER have suggested that the title of Rih's eighth album will probably be Bitch Better Have My Money, my gut tells me that it's actually just the name of the second #R8 single, which will drop March 26. But don't quote me on that! (Or do. It's my last day, so #yolo.) I just don't think she'd keep using the #R8 hashtag if that were the case.
Plus, as my part-time Navy, full-time Directioner MTV coworker Maeve Keirans discovered, the file name for the image is "BBHM-Single-Art_APPROVED-3.256.jpg."
Either way, we'll have some kind of new music from Rihanna tomorrow. Just remember: keep breathing.
