The Boston Yeti Is Selling Merch To Raise Money For Animals In Need

Furry friends helped by Boston Yeti's viral fame.

This winter was a test of endurance and psychological resilience, especially for people in New England. Luckily, they had the exploits of the Boston Yeti to bring some levity to the proceedings and keep everyone from going stir crazy. (Well, almost everyone.)

The Boston Yeti blew up on social media after stalking around the desolate, snow-covered streets of Boston and now, after getting local citizens through the winter, the Yeti is using its viral fame to raise money for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The Associated Press reports the anonymous abominable snowman is selling Boston Yeti merchandise, with proceeds going to the MSPCA's Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston. Items available on the Boston Yeti's Etsy page (dubbed "Boston Yetsy") include pins, bookmarks and stickers.

"I can think of no better way to spin one's popularity than for the benefit of animals in need," the Yeti told the AP. "From the beginning of this unprecedented winter, I've been determined to channel the positive energy that surrounds me toward an important and worthwhile cause."

Let's hope this leads to photos of the winter 'squatch holding adorable puppies and kittens, leading to more funds for its furry friends, leading to more photos of it holding adorable puppies and kittens.
