Premiere: Kelly Clarkson Delivers On The Torch Song Front With 'Tightrope'

Listen to the latest 'Piece By Piece' track below.

When it rains in Kelly Clarkson country, it pours harder than the end of her "Since U Been Gone" performance at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards.

The Kellegend has been premiering songs off of her seventh studio album, Piece By Piece, in anticipation of the LP's release, and today she has blessed us with "Tightrope."

The torch song, which Clarkson co-wrote with Greg Kurstin, is much less upbeat than previous releases like "Heartbeat Song" and "Let Your Tears Fall," but it touches on the same themes of trust and relationship-building.

"And maybe you and I will fall in time eventually," she sings over a subdued piano line. "Maybe we’ll both die trying but I can't bring myself to leave/ 'Cause I've looked, and I ain't seen nothing like you/ The way you light up every room tonight so easily/ And I have moved mountains babe just to stumble into your good grace and I still can’t compete."

Kelly Clarkson's Piece By Piece drops Tuesday, Mar. 3 -- after MTV has premiered a couple more songs off the album that is.
