Now There's A Twitter For Farting, For Some Reason

This app hopes to make cutting the cheese a communal affair.

Everybody farts. It's just that some people are better than others at hiding it. But a new app called Fartners, being billed as the "Twitter of farts," uses the actual tagline the "social network for your ass." And it's banking on the fact that, deep down, we all want to flaunt our flatulence.

Fartners aims for users to build social networks based around the sharing of their farts. That means telling your followers when you break wind, and even posting a recording of it if the timing is right, or listening to a friend's latest bomb drop.

According to Daily Dot, Fartners employs several of Twitter's design concepts. It's currently only available on Android, but the company is trying to raise $10,000 for an iOS launch.

As to why they'd base an entire new social media app on that most antisocial biological act? "We believe that laughing together creates a connection between people, and what's more universally funny than farts?!" the creators explain. "Whether you're an American, Russian, Jewish or Muslim, we all fart and it's always funny."

But if you're not sold on this download, here's everything you need to know about hiding a fart:
