Where Is Adele Dazeem Now? We Checked In With Last Year's Oscar Memes

Because who cares about the actual awards.

The Oscars are known for glitz and glamour, but in 2015, that can all get a little boring. Do you really care who Emma Stone is wearing down the red carpet?

Thankfully, the Academy Awards are also the ultimate opportunity for the internet to collectively be at their best -- and worst -- behavior, finding humor in some of the more outrageous moments as they happen and turning them into indelible memes. From Adele Dazeem to star-studded selfies, the 2014 Oscars were full of them, and now MTV News is checking in with a few of our favorites.

The Oscar Selfie Seen Around The World

Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres'

Last year's hostess with the mostess Ellen DeGeneres lived out our dreams when she took a selfie flanked by nearly a dozen of Hollywood's biggest stars, from Jennifer Lawrence to Meryl Streep. At the time, it was the most retweeted tweet ever. Sure, it may have been a publicity stunt for Samsung, but it was still pretty cool to watch some of the most famous people in the world (and Lupita Nyong'o's brother) huddle together for a selfie. So where are they now?

Despite not being nominated for an Oscar this year, Jennifer Lawrence is still ***flawless. Thanks to her mega-hit, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," JLaw became the top-grossing actor of 2014. Meanwhile, her bestie Meryl Streep earned her 19th Oscar nom for "Into the Woods." Also an Oscar contender this year, Bradley Cooper is hoping the third time's a charm on Sunday night. B-Coop may score his first Academy Award ever for "American Sniper," and we're already anticipating having to call him Oscar winner Bradley Cooper.

Channing Tatum is gearing up for his life's work: "Magic Mike XXL." The film may not be Oscar bait, but it's definitely going to be, well, huge. Fresh off his Golden Globe win for "House of Cards," Kevin Spacey is currently living his best life, and probably preparing his Emmys speech. (F-bombs most definitely included.) Brad Pritt and his wife (!) Angelina Jolie are still the Hollywood "It" couple, and Julia Roberts is still America's sweetheart.

And then there's our goddess Lupita Nyong'o and her brother, Peter -- the real selfie-stealer of the 2014 Oscars TBH -- who are still orbiting the planet perfection. Nyong'o landed a role in the most anticipated film of the year (decade?), "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Meanwhile, her bro is content doing normal things, like his laundry.

Adele Dazeem

It was the gaffe heard 'round the world. John Travolta accidentally introduced Idina Menzel as "Adele Dazeem," and the internet would not let him forget about it. Even though Menzel had already "let it go," the public wasn't as forgiving. Name generators were launched, Twitter handles were created, and alas, a meme was born.

As far as we can tell, "Frozen" songstress Menzel has already moved on from the gaffe. She's currently starring on Broadway in "If/Then," a musical about a woman named Elizabeth living two lives -- one as Liz and one as Beth. (Kind of like Idina and Adele, no?) And Travolta will make a triumphant return to the Oscar stage this Sunday as a presenter, where he will undoubtedly make at least one Adele Dazeem reference.

Meanwhile, Adele Dazeem now goes by the name Dick Poop.

Poor Leo

Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated for an Academy Award five times, yet somehow still doesn't have an Oscar. What he does have, however, is a yacht full of fancy champagne and Victoria's Secret models. So who's the real winner, Christoph Waltz? (Yeah, it's still you. We get it.)

JLaw Falls Again

Jennifer Lawrence falls2

There's no denying that JLaw is an incredible actress. Her balance, however, is not so outstanding. Last year, she managed to trip over her dress walking down the red carpet. Uproxx dubbed it the "Now-Annual 'Jennifer Lawrence Trips At The Oscars' GIF." Honestly, the Oscars would be a lot more interesting if JLaw did make it an annual event. As a presenter at this year's Oscars, all eyes will be on Lawrence to see if history will repeat itself -- and whatever happens, she'll still be effing fabulous.
