Oregen State Webcam Girl Says She Did It All For Her Modeling Career

Kendra Sunderland opens up about infamous library video.

The former Oregon State student who filmed herself stripping in a university library last fall has opened up about the video that made her a viral sensation (and an accused criminal). Kendra Sunderland spoke with the New York Daily News about the explicit video, and it turns out she was doing it for a webcam porn site in the hopes that it would jumpstart her modeling career.

While in college, she says she realized the office world wasn't for her, and soon after that epiphany she came across MyFreeCams, which the Daily News describes as a live webcam sex site with tens of thousands of models who get paid in real time.

"On MyFreeCams, [users] had nothing but nice things to say. And I made way more than I would working any other job," she told the paper. As in, $150 in her first hour of footage for the site.

Then, one user reportedly suggested she’d get a bigger payout if she did a session in a public space. And that led to the fateful library video.

Sunderland says the performance lasted more than an hour and earned her $750. In fact, after that, she dropped out of Oregon State and churned out some 100 videos for the site through January.

But once the library video went viral after a user recorded the stream and posted it to PornHub, she earned much more in coveted viral capital.

“When I first started working for MyFreeCams, I was hoping that it would open to modeling and doing magazines and shoots like that,” Sunderland said. "I knew that eventually everyone would see everything about me and see me naked. I just didn’t think that would happen so fast and have my actual name on it."

The 19-year-old claims she has dreamed of being in Playboy since she was little. But while the library video may have been her big break, it has brought some negative consequences with it. The MyFreeCams attorney told the Daily News that she has been banned from the site for violating its guidelines. And, of course, she still faces up to a year behind bars and a fine of up to $6,250 for public indecency.
