Barber Shames Misbehaving Kids By Giving Them A Balding Old Man Haircut

The classic sports hazing tactic enters the realm of child discipline.

Parenting techniques have undoubtedly improved over the years, so with fewer options at their disposal, parents are forced to become creative when disciplining their children. One barber outside Atlanta came up with the hilarious alternative method of giving misbehaving kids the haircut of a balding old man.

Russell Fredrick of A-1 Kutz calls it the Benjamin Button Special, and he's offering it to parents for free. Since rolling out the novelty cut, he's only had one taker so far, but the photo of that 10-year-old subject quickly spread over social media, accompanied by the caption "So u wana act grown...well now u look grown too."

“There are a few people that are saying it’s emotional abuse; but on average, everyone is applauding the mother that brought the child in — and applauding me as well,” Fredrick told the Washington Post.

Plenty of parenting and child psychology experts are opposed to this stunt, but the father of three said he used the technique on his own 12-year-old son last year, and claims he saw immediate results in his kid's changed behavior.

"I hope that most people won’t have to do this unless it’s an extreme circumstances and nothing else is working," Fredrick added.

As for that poor kid with the George Jefferson/George Costanza crescent cut in the viral photo? His mother brought him in four days later, saying he learned his lesson, and Fredrick cleaned him up.
