Angel Haze reveals that she’s “obsessed” with her girlfriend, Ireland Baldwin, on her new single, “Candlxs.”

For her opening salvo, the Dirty Gold singer/rapper fires off a stream-of-consciousness style dedication to her lover before slowing it down to a near ballad, singing tender, thoughtful lyrics about the love that “burns slow” like a candle between them.

“Yo, what’s the point in messin’ round, if we both know what we found, forever baby we could make it,” she sings.

Buoyed by producer Troy Noka’s multi-layered production, Haze fully lays her emotions on the table, showing a completely different side of the artistic honesty she demonstrated on her rendition of Eminem's “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” which is about the sexual abuse she suffered as a youth.

“Candlxs” is slated to be the first single for her upcoming sophomore LP, which is tentatively titled, The Flowers Are Blooming Now.
