If there's one thing "The Strain" missed out on in its first season, it was the opportunity to turn New York City into a full-scale vampire war zone. Looks like season two is about to make things right.

The brand new trailer for the second season of "The Strain" is here, and it's all vampires, all over Manhattan, all the time. Looks like the ball-free blood-suckers are about to make their run on New York, as was teased all throughout but never quite delivered on in season one.

"The battle has begun," veteran vampire slayer Abraham Setrakian tells us in a voice over. "An evil is spreading, changing the human race — literally turning us into monsters. We must fight. All of us. Fight to save our civilization. Fight… or die."

The FX vampire series, based on Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's books of the same name, tells the story of virologist Ephraim Goodweather and his allies as they discover an ancient vampire conspiracy to decimate the human race and gain control over the world. These vampires, unlike the ones in "Twilight," do not sparkle. Instead, they do this:

In other words, they're super dangerous, super gross, and super sexless. The season two trailer promises all-out vamp war, which can only mean one thing: Abraham Setrakian getting incredibly irritable and shouting "STRIGOI! STRIGOI! STRIGOI!" a whole lot. Sign us up.
