Get A Peek Of Nicki Minaj's Emotional Homecoming In 'My Time AGAIN' Clip

The kids are thrilled to see Nicki.

There's probably no greater measure of success than the reaction you receive when you return home. And in the upcoming MTV documentary, "Nicki Minaj: My Time AGAIN," fans get to see the YMCMB rapper live this emotional moment.

In a new preview clip from the documentary, which premieres on MTV Sunday, Jan 18., Nicki Minaj returns to her hometown in Queens, where she's mobbed by children in the neighborhood. And she's just as excited to see them, as they are to see her.

"They feel like I walked the same streets, they know where I lived -- they feel like, 'She made it out of here and I can make it out of here too,'" an emotional Nicki explains. "Those little kids are proud to say they're from Southside Jamaica, Queens. And they should be."

One of the most touching moments comes when Nicki admits that their energy keeps her going. "I think it's less about what I give to them, and more of what they give to me," she says. "They give me hope, really, because they make me feel like I can do anything."

Oh yeah, and kids -- remember to stay in school! Nicki Minaj said so.

Catch the full documentary, “Nicki Minaj: My Time AGAIN” when it airs on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Earlier that day, fans can also enjoy a 30-minute special called “Nicki Minaj’s MTV Moments: #Barbzforlife,” which highlights the biggest MTV moments of her career.
