Alcohol can make people say some pretty wild things, but this one might be a record-breaker. A man in Northern Ireland recently got so drunk that he called emergency services and insisted that he was Nicki Minaj.

On Christmas Day (December 25), Steve Brown, 23, called up 999 (the equivalent of 911) and told the operators on the other line that two men had been making threats against his life. Five minutes later, he called again to cancel the first call, saying he had not received any threats, but that he was, in fact, the American rapper Nicki Minaj.

Brown also claimed that there was a poltergeist haunting his house.

Police quickly arrested the man, who insisted that he honestly felt he was experiencing an emergency when he believed himself to be Nicki Minaj.

He has since been banned from drinking alcohol or leaving his house at night, and authorities have advised him not to call 999 except in the case of a real emergency.
