Stephen Collins Says He Put Sexual Abuse Behind Him Before '7th Heaven': Watch

'I am a flawed person,' Collins says.

Yesterday (December 18), former "7th Heaven" actor Stephen Collins publicly broke his silence by admitting to People that he sexually abused three underage women. Now, he's continuing his apology tour with an interview with Yahoo Global News anchor Katie Couric, which will air on "20/20" on Friday.

A snippet of the interview has been released today, in which Collins denies that he felt like he was living a "double life" while playing the Reverend Eric Camden.

"I had put that stuff behind me," he says. "I am a flawed person. And in the church -- it's actually one of the things I love about the church, it's one of the main things about the Christian faith -- is Christ says in so many ways, 'Bring me that about you which is broken. Bring it.' And, most people are broken in some way."

Collins then went on to say that he didn't want these abuse allegations to get out, since he had already dealt with them behind-the-scenes.

"This came out," Collins continues. "I didn't choose this to come out. I didn't want to have to deal with these things publicly. I had dealt with them very, very strongly and committedly in my private life. I think I'm a human being with flaws and I've done everything I can to address them."
