Previous - 12/17, 11:35pm: Sony Pictures may have canceled the release of “The Interview” due to a terrorist threat, but one Texas theater plans to screen another movie about plotting the assassination of North Korea's Supreme Leader in its stead.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema’s Dallas/Fort Worth location will show 2004’s “Team America: World Police” for one free screening, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“We’re just trying to make the best of an unfortunate situation,” creative manager and programmer James Wallace told THR.

With the tagline “Putting the ‘F’ Back in Freedom,” “Team America” is a comedy-action thriller that uses marionettes instead of actors. The plot centers around the assassination of Kim Jong-il, the father of the current leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, who Seth Rogen and James Franco are tasked with assassinating in “The Interview.”

The theater’s Richardson, Texas location will screen the replacement movie on Saturday, December 27 at 7 p.m.

“With cap guns for everyone … for free,” Wallace told The Dallas Morning News. “Because you can’t spell freedom without free.”
