Watch How The Nicki Minaj And Beyonce Collab 'Feeling Myself' Came To Life

Hit-Boy takes you in the studio.

When the track list for Nicki Minaj's The Pinkprint hit the 'net, one of the most anticipated songs was her Beyoncé collaboration, "Feeling Myself." And it lived up to the hype.

There are a number of reasons for that -- including the energy that Bey brings and that, by the end of the song, Nicki is "on her fourth flow" -- but chief among them are production and song structure.

In an interview with Revolt, Hit-Boy, who produced the track, walks us through the beat's evolution. The 27-year-old -- who is also behind hits like "N---as in Paris," "Clique" and "Backseat Freestyle" -- takes us into the studio to reconstruct the beat from scratch, while he demonstrates what sounds he used, addresses what Nicki was looking for, and credits TDE's SZA for writing a part of it.

Check out how one of the best beats on the album came to life.
