You’ll Eat Up Chance The Rapper And The Social Experiment’s New Song ‘Sunday Candy’

'Surf' is on the way.

The Social Experiment have been gearing up to drop a new project for months now, and on Tuesday night, we got an early taste of what's to come.

Oftentimes, we've heard from Chance the Rapper and The Social Experiment, but this time around, it's billed as Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment -- the band is made up of Chance, Donnie, Peter Cottontale, and Nate Fox.

"Sunday Candy," off of the upcoming Surf, is an upbeat, melodic jam, marked by its full instrumentation, with Chano and singer Jamila Woods steering the ship vocally.

"This song specifically is a great representation of [The Social Experiment's] collaborative efforts," Donnie, born Nico Segal, told The Fader. "It's my curation, but then bringing it to the table with all these beautiful people and including them in their own way. Jamila sang on that hook, then I brought it to the collective. Peter added some great layers of texture and helped produce, Nate added a bunch of drums, tons of our friends from Chicago played instruments and added their ideas."

"I bring a musical side to what Chance is doing and he appreciates that and likes writing over it, so we make a good team."

Last month, Chance announced that the musical outfit is at work on two upcoming releases.

"Surf is the first project, which is coming out before the end of 2014," he said, adding that another, SOX, should arrive in 2015. "It’s the first Social Experiment project. It’s a big step for all of us all putting our heads together and letting Nico hold the reigns and carry it. There’s a lot of great instrumentation. A lot of input from cool writers. I’m already saying too much.”
