'Walking Dead': This Episode Is One Of The Creator's Only Major Regrets
Remember this guy?
That's Doctor Jenner, the man we met in the "Walking Dead" season one finale, and the sole surviving scientist at the Center for Disease Control. He burned quick and he burned bright on the show, appearing in one and a half episodes of the series — a memorable appearance, but a quick appearance.
But in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, "Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman admitted that if he could "do it again, I wouldn't have done the CDC episode."
Easy, doc. Kirkman has no beef with you. In the end, he says, "It ended up being a fun episode. I love the character of Dr. Jenner." So you're good.
Kirkman's problems stem with how much the episode, "TS-19," revealed about the state of the "Walking Dead" world.
"I've been careful in the comic series to not say what's happening in other parts of the world," he said. "It's something that's going to be fun to explore in the spinoff series. But the fact that France is mentioned in that episode and other things like that, I probably would have steered away from that stuff if I had to do it all over again."
Fair enough! The episode exists, no taking it back, and it certainly yielded some fun moments, like the shower montage…
…everyone getting sloshed…
…and the whisper heard all around the world:
What do you think? Do you agree with Kirkman, that Rick's time at the CDC revealed too much? Do you like the episode, or would you rather see it burned out of existence?
