However, your yoga pants may be giving you more than just second glances in the Starbucks line. These skin tight wonders of nature may be to blame for break outs on your butt. Dr. Elizabeth Tanzi, a dermatologist who practices in New York, confirms that buttne cases are rising faster than a perfectly aligned "Warrior One" pose: "We are seeing a lot more breakouts on the butt.” Are the world's favorite spandex pants really to blame for this epidemic? Maybe.

The very genius of yoga pants hinges on their tight fit, but this may be exactly what is causing those not-so-sexy bumps on your bottom. Hitting a power yoga class causes you to sweat, the tightness of the pants causes them to stick to your skin and bacteria is then rubbed into your pores in the process, ergo, a butt zit is born. In other words, limit the work out pants to times when you are actually working out.

Already have a case of buttne and not sure what to do about it? Zits on your lower cheeks should be treated in basically the same way as those on your upper ones. Dr. Tanzi suggests using a topical solution to combat the bacteria that is at the root of the outbreak. Look for something that has salicylic or benzoyl peroxide in it. Also, use some of that mindfulness you've cultivated in yoga to resist the urge to pop. Popping pimples anywhere can lead to even more severe infections and scarring. Namaste.
