Where were you when you first learned about Batfleck?

Superman remembers, and many other comic book lovers could recall their whereabouts without blinking an eye. And here's someone else who knows exactly where they were, and what they did, when Ben Affleck was announced as the new Batman…

…Christian Bale.

The Dark Knight himself reveals to Empire that when he first heard about Affleck as the new Batman, it took him by surprise.

Not anymore, buddy. And he needed a minute to come to that realization; he says that he "just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour" after hearing about Batfleck.

But Bale feels better now. He's over it. He's an adult.

"I'm 40," he says. "The fact that I'm jealous of someone else playing Batman… I think I should have gotten over it by now."

Good attitude, Christian. Gotta move on. The Batwing has sailed.

The "Fighter" Oscar winner says he reached out to Affleck over e-mail with advice, but "I haven't spoken with Ben." So that's awkward. Maybe Affleck's inbox was full?
