Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora And More Are Best Dressed At The 2014 AMAs

Rita Ora and Selena Gomez appeared to have stepped out of a time machine in glam gowns that would impress Marilyn Monroe. The Jenners went for a less-is-more vibe--and by that, we mean they were wearing (and slaying in) less fabric than is customary for red carpets and/or public places. And Nicki Minaj continued to stun with her new, more subdued steez. Check out the rest of the best dressed from the American Music Awards red carpet ahead!

In a sea of black dresses, Rita stood out in her super glamorous bright yellow gown that was giving off so many Old Hollywood vibes we could have sworn we were back in the '40s for a sec. Her matching lemon eye makeup (which is usually impossible to pull off AND YET SHE DOES!) and architectural topknot made the whole thing modern, reminding us why Rita is such a force to be reckoned with.

This classically elegant Armani number would almost be too sophisticated for the pop star if it wasn't for the super saucy exposed back that had everyone doing a double take. (Especially Justin Bieber who was definitely maybe watching the red carpet pre-show at home. Probably. IDK!)

Despite the fact that it took some sort of fashion design wizardry to make sure J-Lo's ladyparts weren't the real star on the red carpet, her blush-colored Reem Acra number was crazy gorgeous right down to its asymmetrical waterfall hem that appears to be inspired by those Jessica McClintock prom dresses every girl was dying to wear in 2005. (In a good way! Because the 2000s are the new '90s.)

Kendall was basically just wearing a high-waisted bikini bottom, though she was casually swathed with a bit of sheer fabric, too. And yet, she still managed to look like a fancy high-fashion runway model. Maybe because she is...

Pairing bright teal mermaid hair with a silky, sultry burgundy dress is a bold move—especially this close to the holiday season—but despite her young age (must we remind you she's only 16?), Kylie doesn't shy away from much. Her matching oxblood manicure and lipstick were a clever touch that went a very long way.

Wow. Just, wow. Charli's never done such straight-up elegance before, but man oh man oh man, she should do it more often. It's almost as if Vivienne Westwood's signature silhouette was made with the "Sucker" singer in mind. One thing's for sure: Everyone who had to walk the red carpet after her was a, well, sucker. Sorry...but it's true!

Between this flirty micro-pleated frock and her flawless performance with Skylar Gray, Nicki was the real winner of the night, trophy or not.

While most of the hemlines were sweeping the floor at tonight's awards show, Becky looked white-hot in a sparkly, sheer, body-con mini dress.

How does Kate Beckinsale have a 16-year-old daughter? And, more importantly, how does Kate Beckinsale still look as girlishly adorable as she did 16 years ago?! If that Kaufman Franco gown is her secret, then we need to invest in Kaufman Franco immediately.
