Chris Hemsworth is People's Sexiest Man Alive. The 31-year-old "Thor" actor will cover the magazine's Friday issue.

So how did Hemsworth react when he found out that such an honor was being bestowed upon him?

"I thought... good," the Australian actor joked. "I'm a few years light of hitting my peak. A few years young. I'm on the decline now."

He admitted his wife, Spanish model Elsa Pataky, thought his newest title was "funny." To him, she's the sexiest thing in the world, he said in his cover shoot video. The couple, who wed in 2010, have three kids -- 2-and-a-half-year-old India and 8-month-old twin sons, Sasha and Tristan.

The middle Hemsworth brother (sandwiched between Luke and Liam) is best known for playing a comic book character in the "Thor" movies and "Marvel's The Avengers." He also stars in "Star Trek" films. He's currently filming the sequel to "Snow White and the Huntsman." But now, he has something more to brag about.

"I think you've bought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house," he told People. "I can just say to [my wife], 'Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don't need to do the dishes anymore, I don't need to change nappies. I'm above that. I've made it now.' "
