The tidal wave of "Frozen" obsession is so strong, it is currently the fifth top grossing film of 2014 even though it was released last year (in 2013). Yeah that's right: we're never going to let it go!

According to Walt Disney Studios, "Frozen" has earned $733 million of its $1.27 billion worldwide gross (so far) in 2014. This is probably due to the fact that the film was released at the tail-end of 2013 (November 27th, never forget The Day That "Frozen" Built), but it's impressive nonetheless.

Equally as impressive? The fact that the Disney story about the unyielding love between two sisters was only bested by these four movies worldwide: 1. "Transformers: Age of Extinction" ($1.087 billion); 2. "Guardians of the Galaxy" ($770.1 million); 3. "Maleficent" ($757.7 million); and 4. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" ($746 million).

Film buffs out there might have already noticed this, but for those less in the know, here's a fun fact! Including "Frozen," three of the five biggest films of 2014 are Disney-backed properties. And even if you don't include "Frozen" due to the 2013 technicality, the next film down on the list — "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" — is also theirs, and made $714.1 million in ticket sales this year.

So, basically what we're saying is this: The Mouse House owns your heart, soul, and definitely your bank account. Accept it now 'cuz — as evidenced by Marvel's mega-slate of forthcoming films — it's going to be that way for a long, long while.
