Watch Rihanna Sashay Shante Down The Runway At Mugler Ball

You betta work!

On Saturday night, while many of us were sound asleep—or, OK, maybe just me—Rihanna was getting her vogue on at the Miyake Mugler House Ball in Astoria, Queens. Voguing, a dance style that evolved from Harlem ballroom culture and was made popular by the one-two punch of Madonna's "Vogue" and the 1990 film Paris Is Burning, involves fierce strutting and then freezing in a pose, as if you're modeling for the cover of Vogue. While Rihanna is quite familiar with posing for Vogue, she took a different approach at the Ball.

Things kicked off with a sashay and some hands-on-hip action.

For her walk back down the runway, Rih began with a wide-armed walk and then broke into what can only be described as a shuffle dance.

Rih explained in her own Instagram—welcome back, badgalriri 4eva!!!—that the decision to hit the stage came after she was shouted out. She attended with hairstylist Yusef Williams and Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing, and though it was her first Ball, it was a memorable one for sure. Maybe next year we can expect these moves from her?

I volunteer to be your partner, if you need one, Rih. We'll talk.
