Here's Everything We Know About Rihanna's Next Album So Far

#R8 is coming.

Updated (3/27/15, 6:00 p.m. ET)

Rihanna finally resurfaced on Instagram in early November -- thank you Based God -- and since then she's pleased us with pretty frequent posts about her many endeavors. The risqué magazine spreads have been great, for sure, but it's the music that we're really excited about. There have also been steady updates about her upcoming eighth album, which she's referring to as R8. Check out what we've learned about the project so far.

The album might be called R8

Over the past few weeks Rih has continued to hashtag her Instagram and Twitter posts about the project with #R8, so at least for now, we’re assuming that this will be the album title.

While walking the 2015 Grammys red carpet, ‘Ye confirmed that he’s at the helm of this ship, and he’s already thrown out some great collaboration ideas for RiRi, including Young Thug and, of course, Paul McCartney.

“I played her my album, and I said, ‘I’ve got a few songs with Paul McCartney, and she couldn’t get past this record, [‘FourFiveSeconds’]” he told Ryan Seacrest. “She had to have it on her album. And she sounds really amazing on it.”

New label. New Rih?

Probably not, but we’d just like to point out that Rihanna released her last seven albums on Def Jam Records, and this new project will arrive via Jay Z’s Roc Nation imprint instead. Let’s see if that changes anything.

She’s definitely got club anthems

If you heard “FourFiveSeconds” and got worried that Rih was going to switch it up on us completely, don’t worry – because she won’t. Her Mar. 26 release, “Bitch Better Have My Money” is a jam through and through. This one might get played in the clubs even more than “Pour It Up” did.

Even her ballads are raunchy

As of Mar. 26, Rihanna has officially released two singles from the album – “FourFiveSeconds” and “Bitch Better Have My Money” – but she’s also teased a couple others. There’s the ballad “Higher” and another song tentatively called “Kiss It Better.”

She's got some darker moments as well

In an untitled song that she previewed briefly on Instagram, Rih gives us a little piece of her mind, singing, "Ain't none of this sh-t promised / Ain't none of it certain." But, this was just her "phuckin roun in da studio."

The artwork is going to be insane

Judging by the cover art for “Bitch Better Have My Money” – I never thought I’d actually said this, but seriously, eyebrows on fleek – it looks like Rih is going to be having a lot of fun with the visuals to accompany her new music.

Her list of collaborators could be pretty long

Just to be clear, we’re not confirming that these people will all appear on the album – we’re just pointing out who she’s been working with so far.

Sia sent a song to Rihanna for consideration, U.K. singer Natalia Kills tweeted that she worked on the project and Kiesza says that Rih recorded “two or three” of her songs as well. She’s worked with DJ Mustard, Big Sean, and Ty Dolla $ign. Plus, she sampled a song from Florence and the Machine’s 2011 album Ceremonials.
