These Real Life Hip-Hop Horror Stories That Will Make Your Skin Crawl

For real, for real.

Halloween is fast approaching and there's nothing like a good old-fashioned ghost story -- hip-hop artists know this as well as anyone.

Songs like the Geto Boys' "Mind Playing Tricks on Me," Lupe Fiasco's zombie-tale "The Cool" and Kanye West's "Monster" are all spooky, but none will send a chill down your spine like the three real life hip-hop horror stories below.

Big Lurch Goes Berserk

Antron Singleton was an aspiring rapper, who went by the name Big Lurch and worked with greats like Too Short, the late Mac Dre and E-40, but now the Texas native is serving a life sentence in prison for the gruesome murder of a 21-year-old Los Angeles woman.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Singleton cut open his roommate's chest, ripped out her lung and ate it on April 10, 2002. Police found Lurch walking down an L.A. street, chewing and talking to himself, while covered in blood.

"Her chest was open, exposing internal organs," an L.A. detective told the Times after the crime.

It was also reported that when police questioned Singleton, "he growled like an animal."

Defense lawyers didn't dispute the claims, and Singleton told jurors that he committed the crime during a five-day PCP binge. He was eventually found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.

Houston, We Have A Problem

Los Angeles singer Houston started his career with a bang.

In 2004, his breakout single "I Like That," with Nate Dogg, Chingy and I-20, peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned him a gold plaque. The track was even featured in a McDonald's ad. Then came Houston's debut LP, It's Already Written, another gold-selling success for the singer, but by 2005 things started to unravel for the budding star.

Houston attempted to jump out of a hotel's 13th-floor window before a show in London, but he was stopped by security. He was moved to a lower floor and locked in a room, where he then gouged his left eye out with a plastic fork.

It was reported that Houston struggled with a PCP addiction and suffered from manic depression.

Christ Bearer And The Invisible Penis

Rapper Christ Bearer got his start as a Wu-Tang Clan affiliate, but isn't particularly known for his music.

Earlier this year, the California MC (born Andre Johnson) cut off his own penis and then jumped off a second-floor balcony. Luckily, CB had his member surgically reattached and even laughed about it during his recent stand-up comedy routine.
