Selena Gomez Tells Fans To Make Like Taylor Swift And ‘Just Shake It Off’ In Inspiring Speech

Stop what you're doing and watch this We Day speech right now.

Selena Gomez, you are truly an inspiration.

The singer/actress took a timeout from her hosting duties at We Day Canada in Vancouver on Wednesday to give an emotional, encouraging and truly inspirational speech to fans, reminding them that even though she may be super famous, she still goes through the same hardships that they all face.

"I've been on TV since I was 9 years old so I didn't really have a typical childhood. When people look at me they don't see a 22-year-old trying to figure it out as she goes, they see what they want to see and that comes with a lot of expectations," Selena said.

"I know what it's like to be judged and be put down," she continued. "I know what it's like to have other people form opinions about you without even knowing you; trying to dim your light. I know what you guys go through because I go through it every single day."

Selena has had several ups and downs this past year, from a voluntary rehab stint to her on-again, off again relationship with Justin Bieber, and it seemed like everyone -- fans and haters -- have had an opinion about it. But Selena, being the girl-power queen that she is, isn't letting the negativity stand in her way.

"I don't let it get to me," she told the crowd. "It's entirely normal to be pulled off course, and get in my mind and let that inside, and distract me from who I am, but if i did that it would drive me crazy. I want to say you are not defined by an Instagram photo, by a like, by a comment, that does not define you."

And she gives some pretty valuable advice on how to block out those that put you down and stand in the way of being your best self.

Selena Gomez is full of smiles as she hosts We Day Vancouver

"I want you guys to know that the trick is to focus on the love and what I want you guys to do -- every rude comment you get, every person that tries to hurt you, personally or through the internet, I want you to forgive them, just forgive them 'cause they don't even know. They have no idea," she challenged.

"There is so much love in this world and in this stadium. Do not limit yourselves because of what others expect. We all deserve more than we think and in the end nobody remembers those haters, the comments, no one remembers them, they are just background noise."

And as if to prove again just how inspiring she is, Selena closed her speech by giving props to BFF Taylor Swift: "Like my friend Taylor says, 'The haters are gonna hate -- just shake it off.' And just be you, be true to yourself love yourself, have confidence in yourself and everything will be fine."

Cue standing ovation right now.
