Is 2014 The Worst Year Of Rap Music? Take Our Poll

A$AP Yams thinks so.

Rap fans got pretty spoiled last year. Not only did the game's biggest names like Jay Z, Kanye West, Eminem, Lil Wayne and Drake all drop albums, but we also got heat from guys J. Cole, Pusha T, Mac Miller, 2 Chainz, Juicy J and Wale, too. This year's release schedule may not have the star power of 2013, but 2014 has been a pretty solid year for rap, right?

Well, not if you ask A$AP Yams. "This is probably the worst year of rap music ever. Let’s be honest," the A$AP Mob leader told XXLMag.com in an interview that was published to the Internet on Thursday. "This is the worst year of rap music ever."

Rick Ross, YG, Kid Ink, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Wiz Khalifa have all released albums this year; and then, of course, there are the free online projects that we got from Travis Scott, Rich Gang and Childish Gambino.

Now, Yams didn't name any one artist specifically. He gave his assessment on 2014 rap after trying to explain why the A$AP Mob decided not to release their crew album this year ("It’s been a stale ass year. Nothing has inspired us to drop nothing"), but it still begs the question: Is 2014 the worst year of rap music?
