J.K. Rowling Is Working On A New Book, But What Is It?

And what's this about a wand?

J.K. Rowling has once again graced Twitter with her presence, this time offering an update on her busy life and dropping some teasing hints about what's to come.

Very busy at the moment working on a novel, tweaking a screenplay and being involved in @lumos campaigns. Back when I've finished something!

That screenplay, of course, is for the first installment of the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" movie trilogy that she's writing for Warner Bros and director David Yates. That movie is due out in November of 2016, so the timing on this tweak makes sense.

The novel she's working on is a much bigger question, but we'll come back to that.

In response to Rowling's update, a fan tweeted a reaction, to which the author responded.

.@peruseproject See, now I'm tempted to post a riddle or an anagram. Must resist temptation... must work...

A few hours later, Rowling sent this message.

Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won’t tolerate this nonsense.

Something to ponder while I'm away X

Rowling hasn't tweeted since, but her fans have already begun to busy themselves with decoding the cryptic tweet.

"Wand" stands out for obvious reasons. She is currently tweaking a screenplay about wizards, but the rest of the quote doesn't make much sense. That's why fans in the responses are asking whether this is the anagram that Rowling was resisting a few hours before. What does it mean?!

Moving onto equally mysterious matters, there's the novel Rowling is working on. With several books left in the planned series, it's likely that she's currently chipping away at the next Cormoran Strike book, which would be fantastic news because they're great and I never want them to end.

Once again, J.K. Rowling has us guessing, but I think by this point it's safe to assume that whatever she delivers will be fantastic.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" opens in theaters on November 18, 2016.
