A New 'I Am Legend' Is In The Works
For those of us who spent all of 2007 in a barely-coherent fugue state of rabid, frothing anticipation for the sci-fi survivalist flick "I Am Legend" (*raises hand, waves*) everything about this next sentence is a glorious dream come true:
After years of hopeful rumors, the movie is definitely for sure getting a big-screen reboot, thanks to the talents of one incredibly intrepid iPhone salesman.
According to Deadline, a script by writer Gary Graham will be adapted by Warner Bros in order to bring back the franchise, using the same team of producers but a new lead actor in the starring role.
Adding to the fun is Graham's own unlikely success story: Formerly a salesman at the Apple store in midtown NYC, he got his big break as a screenwriter when he posted the script that would become Legend 2.0 online.
That makes this good news for Gary, good news for the studio, and very good news for fans who are dying to see New York turned once again into a post-apocalyptic wasteland full of waving grasses and wild beasts. Which, lest you've forgotten, was mind-blowingly cool.
Plus, this gives Hollywood a big chance to correct any, ahem, mistakes they might have made with "I Am Legend" the first time around.
You know the ones we mean.
