Here's The Most Bizarre Feature On The New iPhone

You can change your height... by the hour.

One of the biggest additions in Apple's iOS 8 (and iPhone 6) is the new Health app, a comprehensive application that will eventually coordinate with the Apple Watch - and aims to change the very way we approach our daily lives. But I didn't realize just how much it would change my life, until I saw you can change your height by the hour.

Seriously.

There's plenty of stats you can input in the Health app, from weight, to blood sugar, to even medical info if there's an emergency. But while sifting through the different menu choices, I noticed one absolutely bizarre one: height.

Which mind you, isn't bizarre on its own. And yes, people do grow. But take a look at this:

That's the basic set up for all the stats in the app, which makes sense with weight. You can have a daily average weight, right? Or calorie intake? But I'm pretty sure your height doesn't change that rapidly. It also doesn't change hour by hour. Just to test it out, I created a few data points, nothing too crazy.

So far, so good. It's still a little weird that you can input your height by the hour, but they wouldn't allow you to do anything crazy like what if I started shrinking over the course of the night, ever so slightly?

Again, maybe not that weird. People tend to stretch out a little bit, sometimes varying as much as an inch or two from the beginning of the day, to the end. So what if--

Oh no, I'm 12 inches tall! At least my Daily Average height is still around 58.29 inches. The next thought was, if I can somehow convince the app that I'm as big as a Smurf, could it go the other way? And if so, how far could I push this baby? To the max?

Yeah, I'd say jumping up to 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 inches tall is pushing it to the max. To the maxx, even.

So what's the deal, Apple? The Health app is clearly a work in progress, as it requires other apps to input information - and a recent bug delayed the deployment of any third party apps, making it just another hefty memory hog for the time being.

Or maybe... Maybe one iPhone makes you taller? And the other makes you small? Either way, I'm pretty sure I can use this App to reach my goal height in no time.
