It's a sweet "Daily Show" tradition: Whenever a beloved cast member moves on, Jon Stewart takes a moment to show a reel of their greatest hits, do a final bit with them and offer a fond farewell. He was at it again Thursday night, only this time he was welling up over a correspondent he kind of barely even knows.
Yes, comedian Michael Che has booked a gig as the co-anchor of "Weekend Update" on "Saturday Night Live" after getting his big break on MTV2's "Guy Code" and then Stewart's nightly broadcast. But here's the thing: Che has only been on "The Daily Show" for three months (58 days, but who's counting?), filing less than half a dozen reports since he started.
That didn't stop Stewart from turning on the waterworks and busting out some Sarah McLachlan in honor of the short-timer.
