Did We Crack The Code On These Alexander Wang Sneaker Bags?

Ring the alarm! Alexander Wang's much hyped, sneaker-inspired spring collection is up on Moda Operandi for pre-sale. What this means for non-fashion plebes is that starting today, you can stock up on Alexander Wang's Spring 2015 collection. However, delivery for such items including Nike Flyknit heels and Stan Smith-inspired dresses will be delivered any time between January and April.

Our favorite part of this hypebeast-bait collection is dissecting all of the luxe pieces that are clearly inspired by sneakerhead culture and unravelling them down to their sources. We rounded up Wang's sneaker bag in its four different colorways and posited what we think might be their various inspirations.

Green x White

Moda Operandi / Adidas

Alexander Wang and Stan Smiths

The small sneaker sling in optic white and Astroturf was a no-brainer and is easily identifiable as an homage to the iconic Stan Smith sneakers from Adidas.

All Gray Everything

Moda Operandi / Nike

Alexander Wang and Nike Air Max

The same bag in light concrete with mesh was a little bit of a head-scratcher, but we determined it might be the Nike Air Max 2014 in Wolf Grey/Cool Grey/Dark Grey/Black. (Though part of me still says that the assortment of grays reads a little New Balance.)

Black x Royal

Moda Operandi / Nike

Alexander Wang and Nike Air Max

Naming your bag "Black and Airforce" is a dead giveaway. While the midsection of the bag feels very Air Force 1, we feel the Nike Air Force 180 in Black/White-Sport Royal could also be this sneaker bag's closet spiritual companion. Maybe it's an Air Force hybrid?

Red x Black x Stingray

Moda Operandi / Nike

Alexander Wang and Nike Air Max

Which leaves our favorite: Black lacquer and Stingray. While part of us was hoping these were inspired by the iconic "Black Cement" Jordan 3s, we can't deny the references to the Nike Air Max 2014 in Black/Red.

So, what do you think? Did we get these right? Are we true detectives or is there a closer match out there?
