George R.R. Martin has made his living putting beloved characters through all sorts of painful experiences, but how does the "Game of Thrones" author stand up to a little cold? Not too well, apparently.

Martin took the Ice Bucket Challenge after three people, including fellow author Neil Gaiman, nominated him to help fight ALS -- which everyone can do over at ALSA.org.

The creator of all of Westeros was smart enough to take on the Ice Bucket Challenge next to a pool, but his wails suggest he wouldn't do too well in his own fictional world. "Winter came!" he screamed.
