Steve Angello premiered his new video for "Wasted Love" to many eager fans in the middle of New York City on Monday (August 11), handing out T-shirts and posing for pictures with his loyal fans.
The video is a cinematic experience that seems to fall somewhere between a dream and an alternate reality. MTV News caught up with Angello in the Times Square madness, where he explained this fantasy land is not a dream, but the video game of life.
“It’s always really interesting to see something really un-traditional happen," he said. "We got a lot of initial pitches from different directors and we tried to find something that’s very visual and different that ties together with my art direction of the album."
Viewers move from level to level during the song, experiencing the many stages of life until the game is over. There is a quick cameo from Angello, but Dougy of the Temper Trap is featured throughout the video.
The single is his the first release from his premiere album Wild Youth, out later this year.
