Vin Diesel Teases 'Inhuman' Marvel Role Beyond 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'

He's Groot, but is he more?

We are Groot, and he is Groot — but is Vin Diesel even more than just Groot?

Diesel stars as sap-sucking tree-creature Groot in the very groot good "Guardians of the Galaxy," but it's looking like the actor is angling for another role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Over the weekend, Diesel posted an update on his famously prolific Facebook account, saying something that raised more than a few eyebrows for deep-cut Marvel fans:

"I get the strange feeling that Marvel things I'm Inhuman," he writes. "Haha."

"Haha" indeed. Diesel may have the last laugh, as he could very well be trolling the Marvel fans who noticed the capitalized "I" in "Inhumans." In the Marvel Universe, the Inhumans are super humans who hail from Attilan, led by Black Bolt, who can destroy cities with little more than a whisper — that's how dangerous his voice is.

For years, Marvel's Kevin Feige has hyped "Inhumans" as one of the many possible feature films that could spin out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Black Bolt and his family are commonly associated with the Marvel Cosmos, now firmly established by "Guardians of the Galaxy." Could we see Black Bolt and friends in a Marvel movie in the not-too-distant future — and could we see Diesel in the role? After all, Black Bolt can't really talk all that much — he's sort of the anti-Groot in that way. Diesel could pull double duty there, couldn't he?

Or, just as likely, Diesel's just messing around — and if he is, it's a pretty groot, grr, good prank.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is in theaters now.
