Christian Louboutin Debuts Nail Polish Line With Trippy Film By David Lynch

David Lynch—best known for perfecting the mystery thriller film genre, giving us Laura Palmer, and making eerie electronic music—is exploring a new career in... fashion. It started with Lynch directing and writing a short film for Dior in 2010 starring their then-brand ambassador Marion Cotillard and has since evolved into him designing women's workout clothes and, most recently, producing a commercial for red-soled luxury shoe designer Christian Louboutin's debut nail polish line.

Christian Louboutin Nail Polish

Of course, this being David Lynch, you know you're not going to get a run-of-the-mill nail polish ad. The visual clip has Lynch's surrealist stamp all over it and might just be the weirdest nail polish ad you've ever seen—and we love it. It is literally out of this world (set in outer space) with the nail polish bottles making up an otherworldly city. There's also quick flashes of painted nails shot in the glam-camp style of Mulholland Drive.

It's still hard to justify the nail polish line's one-percent price tag, but if anyone is going to get us to shell out $50 on a minuscule bottle of nail polish, it's David Lynch. Snatch it up exclusively at HoltRenfrew.com.
