Most people hate celebrating birthdays after they wave goodbye to their mid-twenties, but one thing guaranteed to ease the pain of getting older is a sweet birthday kiss from “The Vampire Diaries” hunk Ian Somerholder. His co-star, Paul Wesley, knows first-hand.

Despite playing an immortal 17-year-old on the hit CW show, Paul celebrated his 32nd birthday on Wednesday, which Ian -- who’s three years older -- was quick to reveal when they stopped by MTV during San Diego Comic Con. “Paul Wesley’s birthday!” Ian said before giving his on-screen bro a big kiss on the cheek. “I love this man!”

Lucky Paul was also the recipient of a birthday surprise from his former "Vampire Diaries" co-star Daniel Gillies during "The Originals" panel on Friday. Daniel got the entire audience in Ballroom 20 - 4,000 people, Paul informed us - to sing him “Happy Birthday”. “My birthday was, like, four days so it’s this ongoing gag that everyone keeps singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to me. It was flattering slash embarrassing.”

Cue Ian singing “Happy Birthday” in the style of Marilyn Monroe. Sigh. This is one bromance we never want to end!
