Second Electric Daisy Carnival Attendee Dies After Fest

Twenty-five-year-old Anthony Anaya was found unconscious at a Las Vegas hotel.

Just days after news that a 24-year-old collapsed in Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s parking lot and died, a second attendee of this past weekend’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Vegas has been reported dead. Anthony Anaya, 25, of Everett, Washington, was found unconscious at Las Vegas hotel Vdara on Saturday evening after attending the EDM fest and later died, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

As MTV News previously reported, on Saturday morning, 24-year-old Montgomery Tsang of San Leandro, California, collapsed in the venue's parking lot. While Anaya and Tsang were both at EDC, coroner Michael Murphy told the Sun that it's not known whether their deaths are linked to the fest.

The coroner added that medical examiners need blood toxicology test results to make any determinations.

Police said that close to 800 people were treated for medical conditions, and of them, 25 were taken to area hospitals for treatment. About 400,000 people attended this year’s festival.

The event has been held in Las Vegas for the past four years, having moved from Los Angeles after a 15-year-old girl died after being treated for drug intoxication. In 2012, two people died after attending the event.
