Put a reminder in your calendar people, because after June 29, thou shall no longer refer to Bow Wow by his stage name. The artist formerly know as Lil Bow Wow, would now like fans to call him by his government name, Shad Moss.

We've watched the 27-year-old grow up in the spotlight, beginning with early hits like "Bounce With Me," and now he's turned a new leaf. Maybe that hosting gig on "106 & Park" really changed something.

“After BET awards i will no longer go by Bow Wow!” he revealed in an Instagram video on Sunday. “Im going by my real name ‘Shad Moss’ we made alot of history as bow wow. Now its time for the next chapter and challenge.”

“Bow wow does not fit who i am today,” he added. “Ima father, business man, TV host, Actor, and rapper! Time for MR Moss to take over!”

It's so bittersweet to watch them grow up.

In 2002 he dropped the 'Lil' in Bow Wow, and 12 years later he's on to the next.
